I’ve gone through many phases with smoothies. Phases where I’ve made them every single day and phases of going months without them. Through all the phases, I will always love smoothies! They’re delicious, nutritious, convenient and most of all they’re versatile. You can make a smoothie any flavor you want and best of all… You can hide vegetables in your smoothies! This Banana Nut Protein Smoothie is proof of just that.
One thing I love about smoothies is you can make them any flavor you want. You can also add ingredients to your smoothies to make them a bit more nutritious. In this Banana Nut Protein Smoothie, I added avocado for extra nutrients and all the good fats.
Benefits of Avocado:
We all love avocado toast but avocado in a smoothie?! Sounds weird, I know. Adding avocado to your smoothie will make your it super creamy, add healthy fats and help to keep you fuller for longer. Besides that, avocados have more potassium than bananas, they’re high in antioxidants and they’re loaded with heart-healthy fats and fiber which is what will help keep you full. Lastly and the thing I’m sure most people are wondering… no your smoothie will not taste like an avocado!
Great ingredients to add to your smoothies:
Chia Seeds
Flax Seeds
Collagen
