This blog post is sponsored by Torani but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

If you’re a Starbucks fan, you’re going to love this Chocolate Hazelnut Shaken Espresso made using Torani’s newest Puremade sauce flavor, Chocolate Hazelnut! Puremade Chocolate Hazelnut Sauce delivers such amazing flavor with ingredients that I feel good about. There are no artificial flavors, no artificial preservatives, and colors from natural sources. PLUS Torani Puremade Chocolate Hazelnut Sauce is Nut Allergen-Free! Be your own barista and save yourself some money by making this copycat right in your own kitchen. Pair a rich espresso with this sweet hazelnut sauce and some creamy almond milk. The flavors will explode in your mouth!

All I’ve heard about over the last couple of months is Starbucks’ NEW Iced Shaken Espresso. Everyone has tried it, even me, and I can confirm that the hype is real! However… I can do without the $6 price tag…

Don’t you worry though, it’s very possible to make one of these heavenly pick-me-ups at home so you can avoid spending your entire paycheck on coffee once you become addicted.

Ingredients for a chocolate hazelnut shaken espresso

Ingredients you’ll need to make a Chocolate Hazelnut Shaken Espresso:

3 Shots of Espresso

1C Almond Milk or Milk of choice

2-3C Ice

2 Tbsp Torani Puremade Chocolate Hazelnut Sauce + a bit more for a drizzle topping (You can purchase Torani Puremade Syrups yourself at Torani.com)

Whipped Cream (optional but highly encouraged!)

How to make a Chocolate Hazelnut Shaken Espresso

  1. In a jar with a lid, add 1 cup of ice, 3 shots of espresso and 2 tablespoons of Torani Puremade Chocolate Hazelnut Sauce.
  2. Close the lid tightly and shake for about 30 seconds. You’ll see a foam begin to form!
  3. Fill 2 glasses halfway with ice and split the shaken espresso between the glasses.
  4. Top with almond milk, about 1/2 cup each.
  5. Finish with whipped cream and a chocolate hazelnut drizzle!

Do I need to use espresso?

Absolutely not! Let’s be real, not everyone has an espresso machine at home. You can use whatever type of coffee you have on hand whether that’s regular brewed coffee or cold brew that you purchased from the store.

Can I substitute almond milk?

Of course! We’re flexible here at Macaroniebites. Don’t have almond milk on hand or you don’t like almond milk? That’s fine. Use what you’ve got and what you like. Some other options are oat mild, soy milk, cashew milk or regular old cow’s milk.
