I know what you’re thinking, who the heck is Chris?! For those of you who do not know, Chris is my husband. This recipe is dedicated to Chris’ FAMOUS Stuffed Avocado Burgers! If you follow me on Instagram you may see me refer to Chris as Fusco, which is our last name. When Chris and I first met, he introduced himself to me as Fusco and I called him that for the years we were friends before we started dating. Once we were serious he said “I think you should start calling me Chris now” to which I responded with a big fat “no.” However, for the sake of this very special recipe, he is Chris!
Chris started making these burgers about 5 years ago when he was living in Texas. He was on his first weight loss journey and picked a few recipes, this being one of them, to make over and over… and over. He is a SERIAL meal repeater. If Chris likes something, he can and will eat it every single day without getting tired of it.
The first time I tried these burgers was last year when I moved to Illinois. I immediately fell in love and requested he constantly have some ready to go in the freezer at all times! We love having these ready to throw on the grill for last minute dinners or lunches.
What You Will Need for Chris’ Famous Stuffed Avocado Burgers:
90/10 Lean ground beef
Avocados
Egg whites
Red onion
Plain Panko Bread Crumbs
We also top these burgers with Homemade Chipotle Ranch and these are the ingredients you will need for that:
Plain Greek yogurt
Chipotle peppers in Adobo sauce
Lime
Minced garlic
Garlic powder
Salt
Pepper
Onion powder
Chili lime seasoning
Personally, I rather a classic burger with ketchup and pickles over anything. Anytime I go to a restaurant and order a crazy burger with lots of toppings, I always find myself thinking that we could make a better burger at home. This is the burger I’m constantly comparing others to. Although these patties have avocados in them, I love to keep the toppings simple. There’s just something about a classic burger made on your own grill. Am I right?!

Ingredients
90/10 Lean Ground Beef
1 Red Onion
2 Avocados
2 Eggs
1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
1C Plain Panko Bread Crumbs
2 Tbsp Salt
2 Tbso Pepper
2C Shredded Cheddar Cheese
For the Homemade Chipotle Ranch:
1+1/2C plain Greek yogurt
2–3 Peppers in Adobo sauce
1/2 Lime, squeezed
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
A few shakes of Chili Lime Seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a LARGE mixing bowl, combine the meat, red onion (chopped), avocados (diced), eggs, garlic, bread crumbs, cheese, salt and pepper.
- You may have to get your hands dirty here… combine your mixture.
- Make your burgers! We like to measure our burgers out into 4oz patties but you don’t need to do that. Form the meat into burger shaped patties. Make sure your burgers are even and not too thick or they don’t cook even and will take too long to cook through.
- Cook your burgers or freeze for later in freezer paper!
For the Homemade Chipotle Ranch:
- Add your ingredients into your blender and blend until smooth!
