Double Chocolate Chip Banana Bread with slices cute

Making banana bread is one of the easiest ways to use up your overripe banana. When you involve chocolate, it’s also the most delicious way! If I’m being honest, I’m pretty sure the only reason I buy bananas is to make banana bread. I don’t find myself reaching for them throughout the week, especially in the summer! So by the time Friday comes and I notice how ripe they are, I get super excited because I know what I’ll be doing over the weekend!

Soft and fluffy double chocolate banana bread

Husband and I are serious chocolate fans and we are obsessed with my Double Chocolate Banana Muffins recipe. I had a ton of chocolate chips left from the amazing package that I received from Russell Stover and I decided the theme of the weekend was going to be chocolate. Needless to say, this loaf was a huge hit.

Slices of double chocolate banana bread

I actually made this Double Chocolate Banana Bread loaf right before we left to go home to the East Coast and when debating on freezing the rest of the bread or taking it with us, I decided it would make a GREAT car ride snack. Boy was I right!

Using 3 bananas, are they large, small or medium. How many cups of puréed or sliced bananas are needed. The amount or size could change the out come.

Hi Pat, I’d say medium sized bananas. I’ve used a mix and the recipe has always come out well!
