Made with just a couple of simple ingredients, these burgers are easy to make ahead and freeze so you can throw them on the grill throughout the week.
Turkey Burgers get a bad rep. BUT only because most of the time they’re flavorless, over-cooked and just not as good as beef burgers, am I right? However, this Burger recipe is shockingly delicious. They’re full of flavor and the addition of the pepper jack cheese really put them over the top!
Ingredients to make Southwest Turkey Burgers:
Ground Turkey – you can use and ratio of fat% but I used 93/7 and they cam out so juicy!
Red Onion – the key for this ingredient is grating the onion! You get all of the flavor without the onion chunks.
Garlic – minced garlic is idea here and if you have the option to use fresh rather than already minced, use the fresh garlic!
Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce – you can find these cans in the international aisle. This ingredient makes all the difference and gives them a slight kick! You’re only using the sauce here.
Salt, Pepper, Cumin – simple seasoning mixed with all the other ingredients make a killer combo!
Pepper Jack Cheese – you will chop up 2 slices and mix it into the mixture. This ingredient really takes the burgers to the next level!
